Terms of use

Draft, pending legal review. These terms are a plain-language draft. They take effect on the date shown here once they have been reviewed.

CardLore is run by Soham Mayekar. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to how we handle your data, described in the privacy notice.

What CardLore is

A place where people in India write down what actually happened with their credit cards: approvals, rejections, tips that worked and ones that stopped. It is a record of members’ experiences. It does not rank, rate or recommend cards, and it does not predict anyone’s chances.

Not financial advice

Nothing on CardLore is financial, legal or tax advice. Posts are what members say happened to them; they are not checked, and banks change their terms without notice. Decisions about credit are yours. Check anything that matters with the bank.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You choose a display name and handle, and everything you post is signed with them. Don’t pretend to be someone else, a bank or CardLore.
  • One person, one account. Keep your sign-in to yourself.

What you post

  • What you write stays yours. You let us show it on CardLore, and in links and previews of CardLore, for as long as it is up.
  • Write only what happened to you, or say where you heard it. Follow the community guidelines.
  • Never post card numbers, CVVs, OTPs, account numbers, statements or documents, yours or anyone else’s.
  • If you work for a bank, or earn from a card you write about, say so with the disclosure on the post. Referral codes and affiliate links are not allowed.

Moderation

Moderators may hold, remove or restore posts and replies, and suspend accounts that break these terms or the guidelines. You are told when something of yours is removed, and why. If you disagree, see grievances.

Leaving

You can download your data or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting it removes your profile and everything you wrote.

Our part

We try to keep CardLore available and accurate about itself, but it is provided as it is. We are not responsible for what members post or for decisions made on the strength of it, to the extent the law allows.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will ask you to agree again before your next post. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
